The George Kaiser Family Foundation (GKFF) is soliciting Requests for Qualifications from agencies interested in submitting proposals for the development of a master plan, design and initial installation and exhibition components for The Bob Dylan Center (BDC) in an existing building in Tulsa, Oklahoma. This master plan will establish desired standards and best practices for building interiors, installations and exhibitions, as well as the agency’s plans to make the BDC’s assets accessible to its constituencies in meaningful ways through effective and innovative curatorial approaches and public programs. RFQ submissions must be received by May 12, 2017.

In partnership with China Fortune Properties, a state-owned commercial property developer based in Shanghai, we are now launching the YoungBird “Halo” Smart Signage Design Competition 2017 and calling for entries from design firms and institutes of higher education the world over. Contestants are required to conceive an innovative, smart signage design scheme for a select array of outdoor spaces inside the Shanghai Caohejing Hi-Tech Park developed by China Fortune Properties. We seem to have forgotten that schools are the real ‘Temples of Innovation’ that shape children of the future. Schools are supposed to be ‘fun’ places that inspire wonder, creativity and innovation through the teaching and learning. Schools should offer welcoming environments that instil in us confidence to pursue our dreams and interests. Pedagogy i.e. the art of teaching faces a real test in today’s times for it has remained very stagnant and rigid in its discourse. Innovation in methods and practices of education has been slow and very limited.
