Calling on all architects, landscape architects, urban designers and planners to shape the future of one of Australia’s oldest country towns.

Australian and international designers are invited to enter the Downtown Q 2025 design ideas competition – an opportunity to rethink critical streets and sites within the central business district of Queanbeyan, New South Wales in Australia.

The competition prize pool is $62,000 with an additional $2,000 community prize pool.

Winning entries will combine urban design ideas and development concepts that project a visionary future of prosperity and design excellence for the regional city.  These ideas will be used to generate confidence in outcomes for the community and may be further developed to define and stimulate investment opportunity – spearheading regeneration and renewal of one of Australia’s oldest inland settlements.

There is an eminent competition jury, chaired by renowned Australian architect John Wardle.

The competition has the endorsement of the Australian Institute of Architects and the Australian Institute of Landscape Architects.

Registrations close 30 September 2014, with entries due 11 November 2014.
