LONDON 2144: CALL TO CREATE LONDON SKYLINE OF THE FUTURE

Submission: July 25, 2019
Registration: July 25, 2019
Language: English
Location: London, UK
Prizes: Please see details below
Type: Open

To celebrate the 125th anniversary of Tower Bridge, we’re calling on all designers, artists, architects, engineers and enthusiasts alike to share their vision for London’s skyline 125 years from now.

Imagine you’re standing on the banks of the River Thames, looking west towards Tower Bridge and the City. In the year 2144 what does the skyline look like? Would it be recognisable to us today? What does Tower Bridge look like (if it’s still there)? Has Tower Bridge been adapted, or has it changed colour? Does the skyline have any new skyscrapers? Are any recognisable landmarks missing? Or have they been replaced? What kind of materials are these new structures made from?

No matter how ambitious, far-fetched or downright weird your idea, submit your drawings, paintings or designs for a chance to win exclusive prizes and have your work exhibited inside Tower Bridge.

Prize include:

A money-can’t-buy opportunity to operate the controls during a Bridge Lift
a private Behind-the-Scenes tour of Tower Bridge
winning design exhibited inside Tower Bridge
a river cruise on the Thames Sailing Barge Lady Daphne
a selection of special edition Tower Bridge gift items.
