Perhaps we shouldn’t launch such a competition. The answer might be very simple: The Ultimate House of Patriotic Devotion is a Casino. The kind the new President of the United States proved himself quite capable of building and managing. Indeed, wouldn’t it sound appropriate? THE CASINO, as the ultimate House of Patriotic Devotion.
But we do ask you to envision THE ULTIMATE HOUSE OF PATRIOTIC DEVOTION, to be planted right in front of the White House, so the new president would have the delight to see it daily, to contemplate daily the aura of unending bliss that his presidency, no doubt, is and will be bringing to all of us.
Yes, please design THE SUMMUM OF WHAT “PATRIOTIC DEVOTION” could mean, architecturally.
Do not be afraid to exalt the idealism and purity of what these words mean: “patriotic devotion.”
We almost feel we heard these words before, about 80 years ago or so, somewhere in Europe.
Then, there was a deceiver who conquered the imagination of an exhausted country and its people.
Now, another deceiver is doing the very same thing.
WE ASK YOU TO ENVISION THE ULTIMATE HOUSE OF PATRIOTIC DEVOTION, again, to be situated right in front of the White House.
Please make it pure, dear architect, as pure as the thoughts and the feelings of the great Casinos builder, the man of great vision, the kind so very rarely comes upon this earth of ours.
Of course, please make sure the wording you will use will just be ENGLISH, nothing but ENGLISH, since anything else would be illegal, very soon, even outside of the United States.
The vision of the great man encompasses more than his country.
This is a global vision, one that only a true casinos builder could have.
Perhaps we should plant a casino in front of the White House… where the great man could continue to have unprecedented visions of human bliss.
But we invite ANY proposal that would make the great man even happier than he is. Even greater than he is. Even more of a seer than he is.
LET’S ALL REJOICE IN THE GREAT AGE AHEAD OF US, when patriotic devotion would animate ALL CASINOS OF THIS WORLD, FOR THE SPIRITUAL ENLIGHTENMENT OF ALL PEOPLE PLAYING ROULETTE, POKER, and so on.
No doubt, it takes a man of true vision to build casinos and certainly a man of the greatest patriotism.
