The brief is to design a temporary, freestanding, transportable and contemporary showcase Pavilion to be installed in the Museum Gardens based on the year’s Triumph Pavilion theme of “Infusion”, hence the Pavilion will be entitled “Infusion Pavilion”. It calls on participants to create a unique space representing the author’s visual interpretation of creative infusion or fusion of tiling materials into the design form to enhance the thoughts, images or sensations generated by the Pavilion. Tiles are universally employed forms of architectural decoration with current improved contemporary techniques resulting in an infinite colour palette to achieve such a depth of visual richness of remarkable quality architecture and interiors which the Pavilion hopes to explore. Three teams will be selected as winners of the WARMING HUTS COMPETITION: And Arts + Architecture Competiton on Ice from submissions of designs for a warming hut or art installation. Winning entries will be placed along the Red River Mutual Trail located on the Assiniboine and Red rivers in Winnipeg, Manitoba. A “blind” jury will be selecting the winning designs based on their creativity in use of materials, providing shelter, poetics of assembly and form, integration with the landscape, and ease of construction.

OPENGAP organizes the fourth edition of this open ideas competition seeking for innovative, cutting-edge, contemporary, proposals regarding a new concept for artistic inspiration spaces. Participants are invited to design a place focused on the rental of spaces that motivate creativity and concentration, allowing users to focus, inspire and develop their artistic ideas. Each participant or team will define the location of their project, however, the proposal must justify the choice of the location.
The competition is open to all architects, designers, architecture students and to people around the world interested in the topic. Competitors can subscribe individually or as a team of maximum of 5 people.
The proposal submission will consist of two digital images in .jpg format, not bigger than 5MB each.
