On 14th October 2019 the Czech Museum of Romani Culture in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic and ONplan, the competition organizer, announced a landscape and architectural competition for a memorial to the Roma and Sinti Holocaust victims in Bohemia. The memorial is to be set in Lety u Písku, a village where during World War Two a so-called Gypsy Camp was built, a forced labour facility for Bohemian Roma and Sinti before their transport to Auschwitz.

The onePULSE Foundation is proud to announce the first phase of the process for designing and building a memorial, museum and associated open space, which will honor the memory of those lost and affected by the tragic events of June 12, 2016 at the Pulse Nightclub in Orlando, as well as inspire and bring hope to all of those who visit this place of remembrance and education.

The competition client has a motivation to see the projects arising from the competition materialize. However, the client is not the owner of the territory and is not legally entitled to implement the projects independently. Therefore, the only course of action are consistent efforts aimed at persuading the land owners and authorized land users, as well other stakeholders and the wider public of the necessity of having this project realized.
