For the MICROHOME / Edition No4 architecture competition, participants are invited to submit their designs for a micro home – an off-grid modular structure that would accommodate a hypothetical young professional couple (which will be used as an example of family size throughout the competition series). The only requirement is that the structure’s total floor area does not exceed 25 m2 ; beyond that, participants are encouraged to be as creative as possible.

For this architecture competition, participants are tasked with creating a memorial in a decommissioned nuclear weapon testing site. In response to the global silence surrounding the issue of nuclear weapons, participants in “The Last Nuclear Bomb Memorial / Edition No 2” competition must submit their designs with NO DESCRIPTION TEXT. The architecture ideas must be communicated strictly with visuals. We are asking participants to design a building or structure in which the architecture would do all the talking.

For the Iceland Volcano Coffee Shop competition, Bee Breeders architecture competition organisers have partnered with Landeigendur Voga ehf (Landowners of Vogar farmland) as part of a series of competitions based in Iceland. For this competition, architects and architecture enthusiasts are called to submit designs for a coffee shop that would be located at the base of the Hverfjall volcano. The new coffee shop would need to include facilities for a new visitor centre and a small exhibition room that would give visitors information about the volcano’s history.

The challenge is to design a tourist centre on Qiandao Lake for the exploration of the submerged Shi Cheng City. The underwater city of Shi Cheng is often referred to as the ‘Atlantis of the East.’ Its ruins have managed to prevail gloriously for all these centuries so its potential as a wide-open tourist destination is to be explored. The aim of the tourist centre is to tell the story of the unseen, submerged city. Water construction techniques and materials are to be explored. The visitors centre must extend on the water to provide a clear view of the city for people not willing to go diving. The diving facility is an important feature.
