The Tropical House for Orang Asli Design Competition is part of the KUALA LUMPUR ARCHITECTURAL FESTIVAL 2019 (KLAF2019: TOMORROW)’s programme in collaboration with Epic Society. Epic (Extraordinary People Impacting Communities) is a social enterprise that creates platforms that inspire, mobilise and empower people for personal and community transformation, with a vision to make collaborative social impact accessible to all.

When we enter to the information age, science and technology makes a revolutionary progress in our daily life and working mode. With the dramatic change of lifestyle and urban re-centralization, interactive and flexible building clusters become more accessible to inspire staff and search for excellent partners for them. Thus, innovation, integration and mutual benefit become key points of such industry centers.

Oslo is a unique place in perfect balance between architecture and nature: green landscapes, first among all the Fjords, make this one of the greenest cities in Europe. Great explorers have started to conquer extreme peaks but there are also artistic personalities, Munch and Viegeland, that have characterized Norwegian history. History and tradition are mixed with instances of contemporary design: Astrup Feornley Museu, Operahuslet, Barcode district, are just some of the architectures that have given a new image to the urban waterfront.

As our cities grow denser, tall buildings are not a luxury any more but a necessity today. With rampant growth of technology, and the density we have to mitigate with – the overlaps between dynamic nature of spaces is now gaining more and more evident form. For instance, restaurants which works as a co working space in the morning, and a club by the night – our lives are full of such examples where the nature of spaces are bending/blending every day. Hybrid Futures ‘19 is an open ideas competition that explores such programmatic ramifications in a much futuristic timeline and high-density scenarios.

This international architecture ideas competition invites all architecture students, young architects and young creative professionals to develop and submit compelling ideas for the adaptive reuse of a tiny tourist office building in Skagen, Denmark.

We are very happy to announce that the reTHINKING competitions platform has just launched the new contest # 019 BEST DEGREE FINAL PROJECT. Rethinking turns 4 years old. 4 years since the first contest was launched and from the first moment the participants have asked us for a particular type of contest.

The most beloved figure for everyone around the world (kids and adults alike), Santa Claus, needs a new home in the Arctic Circle, and he is looking for a new, young architect to help him build his dream. With the world transforming at a rapid speed, Santa is looking to build a new, improved home that will make his living and working easier. His older house at the North Pole was built keeping in mind his former needs and functions.

Young Balkan Designers is a regional talent platform established in 2011 with the goal of identifying, promoting and developing the creative potential of the Balkans in the field of industrial design. The aim of the initiative is to unite the regional design scene, bring it closer the international market and strengthen its creative potential, while at the same time contributing to the restoration of multicultural cooperation in the Balkans.

In 2047 India will celebrate a hundred years of independence. While there will be various parameters to measure the nation’s progress, the yardstick that will ultimately define our country’s ‘development’ in the most succinct terms is already emerging and shaping itself in the most transformative of ways – the rural landscape. 70% of India’s population – roughly one-tenth of humanity – live in the villages. Isn’t it logical then to assume that their ability to offer fulfilling lives to their inhabitants is germinal to India’s future as a great global power?

Kindergarten Rehabilitation in Bolivia is a competition open to all students and young architects from all over the world. For this fourth edition ARCHsharing collaborate with the humanitarian NGO TECHO Bolivia to build a nursery in an underprivileged neighbourhood of Santa Cruz de la Sierra. The Kindergarten will accommodate more than 500 children. To meet that challenge, the rehabilitation of an old school and an extension will be necessary.  The winning project will be built by our partner TECHO Bolivia.
