TerraViva Competitions launches HANGAR TICINUM, a new architecture competition focused on the transformation of an Italian abandoned hydroplane base into a community hub for the local citizens. Prizes up to 10.000 € will be awarded to the winners selected by an international jury panel composed by, among others, German Fuenmayor (Piuarch), Anastasia Kucherova (Stefano Boeri Architetti) Lorenzo Degli Esposti (Degli Esposti Architetti), Filippo Imberti (TSPA).
‘ What made them win the architecture competition? ‘ is a series of articles dedicated to the best entries in architecture challenges launched recently. We would like to showcase and explain what made the awarded submission extraordinary and how their authors achieved the outstanding effect. We are going to present the complete analysis of the representing ideas, graphical expression and text description – as we believe that those three elements are the key to the victory in every architecture competition.
We will start this series with the best submission of Kaira Looro Competition 2021. The text will be explaining how Juan Pablo Lopez Isabella from Uruguay convinced the jury panel to award him with the first prize.

YAC – Young Architects Competitions – launches CULTURE STATIONS, a competition of ideas for a regeneration of Elini and its surroundings at the heart of Sardinia, one of the most amazing islands in the Mediterranean Sea. Contestants will be asked to reinterpret ancient railway infrastructures in terms of culture and tourism, considering a general mood of “sweet mobility” and “slow tourism”.
Architecture is a privileged tool of those brands characterized by an elevated positioning and that, beyond the quality of their own products, need to feed an imaginary of prestige, style, and refinement.
