YAC – Young Architects Competitions  launches “Ghost Town Refuge”, a competition of ideas aiming to design contemporary refuges among the ruins of the ancient Craco in order to delight visitors with a sublime experience: living among ruins and falling asleep under the uncovered vaults of a ghost town. A cash prize of € 15,000 will be awarded to the winners selected by an outstanding jury panel made of, among the others,  Joao Carrilho da Graça, Ian Ritchie, Alberto Veiga, Benedetta Tagliabue (Miralles Tagliabue).

The Arabian Oryx is a medium-sized antelope that is native to the Middle East. It has long, straight horns, a tufted tail and a distinct shoulder bump, and it is the smallest member of the genus Oryx. Native to desert and steppe areas of the Arabian Peninsula, the Arabian Oryx was considered extinct in the wild at the start of the 1970s.

YAC – Young Architects Competitions  and Cantiere delle Marche launch “Kiribati Floating Houses”, a competition of ideas aiming to design floating structures to tackle the challenges of the rise in ocean levels and climate change.   A cash prize of € 15,000 will be awarded to winners. In addition, some projects will be selected to be part of an exhibition at Santa Maria della Vita in Bologna and some other projects will be selected to be part of an exhibition about the ocean expolarion held by National Geographic at Palazzo Blu in Pisa. selected by a well-renowned jury made of, among the others,​ Kengo Kuma,  Moon Hoon, Rocco Yim, Cristiana Favretto (Studiomobile), Simon Frommenwiler (HHF Architects),Giuseppe Zampieri (David Chipperfield Architects).

YAC – Young Architects Competitions and Manni Group launch Xi’An Train Station, a competition of ideas to design a new rail terminal that will define the meeting point between East and West in the city where the famous Terracotta Army was found.  A cash prize of € 25,000 will be awarded to the winner projects selected by an internationally-renowned jury featuring: Patrik Schumacher (Zaha Hadid Architects), Ben van Berkel (UNstudio), Antonio Cruz (Cruz y Ortiz Arquitectos), Volkwin Marg (GMP Architekten) Dong Gong (Vector Architects), Stefani Boeri and many other distinguished professionals. The competition is promoted by Manni Group with the participation of RockWool, Renolit, Dow Chemical and Tata Steel as sponsors.

In the current competition, we will help Assa, a Mozambican teacher, build a center for children with disabilities and affected by social exclusion, with the help of the Estamos Juntos Initiative and the NGO Somos del Mundo. The winning proposal will be built. The school will be located in a plot between the cities of Xai-Xai and Chongoene, approximately 1 km away of the road that connects them.
