The Design Trust for Public Space unlocks the potential of New York City’s shared, civic spaces through the advancement of new research and collaborative projects. Every three years, the Design Trust launches a request for proposal (RFP), which solicits ideas to realize projects that address a key public space concern in New York City. Organized around a central theme, each RFP cycle is grounded by extensive community outreach and engagement, ensuring an alignment with community needs and interests. The current government office building of Gangseo-gu was established in 1977 and the facilities have deteriorated somewhat over the past 40 histrorical years. Also, it was inevitable to separate the space into 9 facilities due to the narrow area which led to a lack of connectivity and efficiency of work. Thus, demand increased to establish a new government office complex that allows integrated administrative services and includes an open space for residents. (more…)

Warsaw was born as a small fishing community to become, during the sixteenth century, the capital of Poland. The colors that characterize the city buildings gave the urban center a considerable reputation which was interrupted following the damage caused by the Second World War. The reconstruction that followed the conflict was so faithful that it gave the area UNESCO protection. The Jewish ghetto still preserves the damaged buildings to testify the period of persecutions; Wilanow palace and Lazienki park return a sense of austerity often celebrated by public concerts with which citizens retrace the noble musical tradition started here by the well-known composer Chopin. El Pantà de Sau is one of the most prominent features of its kind across the whole of Spain. The valley in which it lies was home to the small village of Sant Romà de Sau which is now submerged beneath the reservoir, apart from the Church steeple, which is still visible when the water level is low. The reservoir is one of many that provides water for Catalonia’s Capital city, Barcelona and is therefore of huge importance to the area. (more…)
