Type: Student Competition
VELUX Group invites the students of architecture to participate in the International VELUX Award competition on the theme “Light of Tomorrow”. The 2022 competition is the 10th edition, which so far has received thousands of exciting daylight projects from more than 5000 students of architecture around the world. The award invites students to explore the role of daylight in architecture and inspire new thinking. The aim of the award is to encourage and challenge students of architecture, and to create a deeper understanding of this specific and ever-relevant source of energy, light and life.
Since the International VELUX Award for Students of Architecture was first launched in 2004, it has grown into what is probably the largest competition for students of architecture, the architects who will shape the buildings of our future.
The student teams will work on their projects in one of the two categories: ‘Daylight in buildings’ or ‘Daylight investigations’.
For the participation in the competition, first step for students is registration with an e-mail address and a phone number. The students are then encouraged to gather their team, connect with the teacher and start developing their project already during the registration phase. In this way, students can have several months to develop their ideas into innovative and out-of-the-box daylight projects.
