Milan is a city of many identities. Life moves frenetic under the spiers of the Cathedral and the grandeur of the Velasca tower, two of the most recognizable symbols of Milan skyline. The urban landscape is rapidly transforming, built episodes continue to change the image of city. Piazza Gae Aulenti and the Vertical Wood – residential complex of arch Boeri – are some of the interventions that have been a spurt in the growth of north Milan. Milan Residential Complex will be built near the Porta Nuova district, between the Isola district, the area of nineteenth-century workers’ residences, and the directional Centre, recognized place of metropolitan business.
You have to imagine an architecture that, in form and function, responding to current housing needs so that individual life can merge with the public life. A residential complex to translate instances of the recent past in a new contemporary sign.
ELIGIBILITY
There is no limit for the competition. I allowed to contest all those who want to deal with the theme proposed, whatever their country of origin. There are no age limits, can enroll graduate students, graduates or professionals. You can participate as an individual or as a group (max 5 components). In the second case it is necessary to elect a leader to have a contact person to which official communications. All competitors have the same rights and must fulfill the same obligations. Groups can be mixed or use more professional, they may be made simultaneously by graduate and undergraduate students.
FEEs
Registration is open until the last day of delivery processed 14th April 2017. The registration procedures are as follows:
SPECIAL ENTRY: from 09th January – 19th February the fee entry is of 15,00 euro for who will use PayPal, 20,00 euro for who will use bank transfer.
ORDINARY ENTRY: from 19th February – 14th April the fee entry is of 20,00 euro for who will use PayPal, 25,00 euro for who will use bank transfer.
The entry is for each participant.
SUBMISSION
The files in digital format must be sent in a single moment, with each title in the alphanumeric code chosen at the discretion of the participants, by 23:59 (Italian time) on 14th April 2017 to the email startfortalents@gmail.com; if the files exceed the capacity email you can use WeTransfer service to send its. Following the delivery the file cannot be re-submitted; in this case the participant will be excluded from the contest. This is part of the competition documentation:
-MODEL A: Attached to this announcement and to be delivered in .pdf format after payment of the registration fee, to receive the material, and the delivery of the final project. In addition to it you have to resend the payment receipt.
-PROJECT TABLE: A digital file format A0 and drawn horizontally. It should be delivered in .jpg format with a resolution not exceeding 150 dpi. Anyone can decide how to draw up their work by inserting the elaborate plans, sections, three-dimensional reconstructions, render etc. The thesis project must contain at the top right an alphanumeric identifier (max 6 units) that each participant will choose freely.
-RELATION OF PROJECT: A folder A4 Word format, maximum 4000 characters including spaces, where not inserted images or graphics design. Internally they are described reasons formal and functional characterization of most of the proposal. In the header you must insert the alphanumeric code.
PRIZES
The winners of the competition will be communicated no later than 28th April 2017. The awards recognized:
-FIRST PRIZE: 500,00 euro (excluding withholding tax) for each participant + 1 year subscription to the digital version of the magazine Domus + 1 copy of all our Notiziario magazine + our publications in digital copy + free participation in all of our future contests.
-SECOND PRIZE: 1 year subscription to the digital version of the magazine Domus + 1 copy of our Notiziario magazine + our publications in digital copy + free participation in all of our future contests.
-THIRD PRIZE: 1 copy of our Notiziario magazine + our publications in digital copy + free participation in all of our future contests.
The mentions are planned – for which there are no cash prizes – that the jury will agree to other worthy projects. All projects with recognition will be published on our site. For the winner is a closed state needed to respond to the interview contest following which it will be paid the prize money that will be resolved within 60 days from the announcement of the winners.
