The Indian Institute of Architects, Cochin (IIA, Cochin), cordially invites Architects from around the world to participate in the MONSOON ARCHITECTURE AWARDS – 2025 (MAA).
The awards were instituted in 2017 as a part of the Living Monsoon Program of IIA, Cochin. The objective of the awards is to recognize the recent best architectural projects from the Monsoon Climatic Region of the world in the last 5 years. Projects are invited from Architects worldwide, who have done exemplary works in the Monsoon Climatic region; designs which are resilient and sensitive to Climate, Environment and Society.
Award Categories
· Category A – Single Family Residential
· Category B – Multiple Family Residential
· Category C – Leisure / Resort / Hospitality
· Category D – Institutions / Work Places/Commercial
· Category E – Public Spaces (Above 300 sq.m)
· Category F -Monsoon City – Placemaking Competition
Eminent jury of international repute will evaluate participating projects. The winners from each category shall take home USD 1500 and citations shall be awarded USD 750.
The winners of each category may also be felicitated at the Monsoon Architecture Festival (MAF) to be held on the 28th and 29th of March 2025 at the 5-star premises of Grand Hyatt, Kochi, India.
Eligibility Criteria:
· Participating Architects shall be members of the recognized Council or Association or Institute or Society of Architects in their country of practice.
· Projects should be located in the Tropical Monsoon or Tropical Rainforest regions of the world (ref: Koppen Geiger Climate Classification) and shall be completed in the last 5 years (10 April 2020-present).
· Cash awards are subject to in person participation at the Monsoon Architecture Awards 2025 to be held at Kochi on 28th/29th March 2025
Please note: There is no limit for the number of entries from each applicant and there is no submission fee.
