The Claude Parent Prize, launched by Claude Parent Archives, is to encourage an alternative and visionary architecture. Inspired by Claude Parent’s constant will to question architecture in its foundations, to research and experiment with an alternative architectural scenario, this biennial international prize aims to reward active architects whose work opens new fields for this discipline, following in the footsteps of the architect of the Oblique and in the spirit of innovation and imagination he championed. These architects bring something fundamentally innovative, revolutionary, or visionary, whatever their area of architectural exploration. It will also allow architecture students to attend demanding debates, to better understand the work of Claude Parent, that of the winners, the members of the jury, and above all, to become aware of the need, today, to explore and propose new transgressions. The price was created in 2024. For 2026, the jury panel members are: Frou Akalay (A+E magazine, Archimedia), Marie-Ange Brayer (Pompidou Center), Edwin Chan (EC3), Aleksandar Jankoviċ (Jankoviċ de Thy), Shelley McNamara (Grafton Architects), and Wolf D. Prix (CoopHimmelb(l)au)!
A great friend of Claude Parent, and a member of the panel of judges in 2024, Jean Nouvel is Honorary President of the Claude Parent Prize. And conceptual artist Loris Gréaud designed the prize trophy.
Keen to offer a fair, equitable competition, the organizers decided that applications for the Claude Parent awards would be free.
Apply through March 31st, 11:59 pm Paris time. Selected entries will be presented to the jury on June 14, 2026, who will announce the winner at the awards ceremony on June 15, 2026.
