The Municipality of Plovdiv – Municipality of Plovdiv, together with the Chamber of Architects in Bulgaria and the Union of Architects in Bulgaria v announces the start of the initiative “Idea Vault: Competition for a concept for the development of a building, with administrative address 51 “Raiko Daskalov”, former building of the Bulgarian National Bank, Plovdiv”, Bulgaria.
️ The aim is to identify new appropriate functions for the emblematic building, taking into account both its value and the dynamic development of the city, European Capital of Culture for 2019, which will serve as a basis for its resocialization as a recognizable and valuable element of the city’s cultural infrastructure.
✅ Legal entities and individuals over the age of 18 can participate in the competition. Acceptable languages for submission of proposals are Bulgarian and English.

Each participant can send their proposals digitally to trezorzaidei@plovdiv.bg until 23:59 on 30.04.2024 or submit on paper until 17:00 on 30.04.2024 to the office of Municipality of Plovdiv, 1 “Stefan Stambolov” square, for the competition initiative “Idea Vault: Contest for a concept for the development of a building, with administrative address 51 Raiko Daskalov Street, former building of the National Bank of Bulgaria, Plovdiv”.
Three of the best ideas will be awarded with a premium of BGN 3,000 (~1500 EU) each and will be presented as part of a public discussion, including in the form of an exhibition in the open urban spaces in front of the Bulgarian National Bank building.

The presentation of the concepts is not tied to the creation of an architectural project. The competition is for ideas for a new function of the building and does not constitute a competition for a conceptual investment project in the sense of the Law on Territorial Planning and the Ordinance on holding competitions in spatial planning and investment design.
