YAC – Young Architects Competitions announces the winners of Pinocchio Children’s Library, an ideas competition that was launched last September and aimed to the design of the greatest international library dedicated to Pinocchio, the most famous puppet in the world.
The jury that assessed the submissions was noteworth: Italo Rota, Mario Cucinella, Fabio Novembre, Emmanuelle Moureaux, among others, featured on the international panel. There was a total cash prize of 20,000€ to reward the winning projects: the 1st prize – 10,000€ – was awarded to the French team “vGHcompany”, the 2nd prize – 4,000€ – to the Polish team “Gierbienis + Poklewski” and the 3rd prize – 2,000€ – went to the Guatemalan team “De Oliveira Castro Arquitectos”. The 4 Gold Mentions – a prize of 1,000€ each – have been assigned to teams “OPV” (Italy), “OOLI” (South Korea), “DEPLUS ZATTI” (France) and “Pájaros mañaneros” (Spain). Besides, 43 additional projects have been awarded 11 Honorable Mentions and 32 Finalist Mentions respectively.
