In this competition, participants have to design a space on the street where people view their spatial and social environments as a playground of knowledge, a place to see, touch, feel, taste, listen to, socialize with and learn from. A place where they see the world very differently and attach and take different meanings and experiences from and to people, to forms, places, spaces, and things, most importantly the intangible relationship between people and the street. The scale of intervention, programs, and site is up to participants. While designing, participants have to keep in mind that Architecture is the discourse of events as much as the discourse of spaces.

We invite you to design a small-scaled HOME for 2 working individuals of any age group optimized for spatial efficiency to fulfill all the needs of its users. The designed home should not exceed an area restriction of 300 sq. ft built-up with spatial adaptability and versatility at the crux of the design to optimize space efficiency. Participants are required to anticipate and provide for the needs that the users may need in the unseen future and also spatially accommodate guests and pets. The designed home can sport versatile makeshift temporary yet comfortable spaces for functions that are not core to the home.

The aim of the “Spacecraft Design” competition is to develop one drawing to communicate a conceptual design. The participants are asked to design a vehicle that responds to the requirements of the brief and one axonometric projection to represent it, with absolute freedom of interpretation, technique and level of abstraction. Even the concept of axonometric itself can be questioned in order to craft the most expressive way to represent the design.

A fundamental portion of architecture constitutes design interpretation: the art of conveyance of the basic ideology and theme behind the development of a design form, rather eloquently.
