The call for ideas WWF OBSERVATION CABINS was launched on March 2021 by YAC – Young Architects Competitions – in collaboration with WWF for the design of observation points and a visitor centre in the oasis of Orbetello. WWF Observation Cabins competition aims at creating a place where to raise awareness, where visitors can reconcile with nature by enjoying and acknowledging the beauty that lies where human beings manage to remain silent and listen.

Results of Young Visionary Architecture Competition 2021 by Standout Archi were announced. The competition was inspired by the influential Architect Le Corbusier. Le Corbusier was a visionary architect whose designs combined functionalism with bold sculptural expressionism. He belonged to the first generation of the International school of architecture. This competition was international and involved unbuilt projects that were designed by students and graduates from all over the world during their career, and could be expressed as university projects, personal projects or graduation projects.

TerraViva Competitions has officially released the complete list of awarded projects of the design contest “The Living Museum”. With the aim of imagining a museum capable of breaking with the conventions of the traditional, the challenge of this competition was to integrate an accommodation program in the heart of the Nivola Museum’s park. Competitors were therefore asked to imagine and design creative and unconventional proposals to host those tourists intent on traveling through the Sardinian inland, and the international artists who periodically reach the museum to set up their own exhibitions.

The objective of this year’s edition of the Kaira Looro international architecture competition was to design a women’s house created to promote gender equality as a determining factor for development in rural Africa. Participants from all over the world submitted their architectural proposals, based on innovative and sustainable design and destined to accommodate awareness-raising activities and training initiatives aimed at developing the village, in the name of equality. The winners were selected by an international jury.

Archstorming, an architectural platform that organizes international humanitarian competitions, has released the results for the Ethiopian Satellite Preschools contest. In this competition, participants were challenged to design a school for the NGO Abay Ethiopia, a non-profit organization from Spain that operates in Walmara, Ethiopia, with the aim of fighting against poverty and promoting equal opportunities, mainly through the development of Education, Health and Community support projects in general.

The call for ideas Leisure Harbor was launched on November 2020 by YAC – Young Architects Competitions – in collaboration with BT and Marina di Loano for a restyling of Marina di Loano, one of the most beautiful marinas in Europe. Designers from 70 countries took part in this compelling challenge proposing their concept idea for this tourist harbor needing to re-shape its image and turn into a proper place of the nautical soul and not only nautical infrastructures because harbors are the beginning and the end of the most outstanding adventures.

Archstorming was calling for proposals to design a secondary school  in Benga (Malawi). Universal education, gender equality and empowering women are vital components of the mission in developing countries. Educating children helps reduce poverty and will give the next generation the tools to fight poverty and conquer disease. School also offers children a safe environment, with support, supervision and socialization. Here they learn life skills that can help them prevent diseases, including how to avoid HIV/AIDS and malaria. Children may receive life-saving vaccines, fresh water and nutrient supplementation at school.
