Students are the backbone of any society or nation. A nation’s progress is dependent on how much is the young generation educated. India is fortunate that more than 60% of its total population of the country consists young people and most of them are the students. India is home to some 34 million students in higher education system out of which 18.6 million students are male & 16.0 millions are females which is double the size of numbers of students in the west. By 2020, India is expected to reach the student enrollment mark to 40 million. The student mobility in India, both internationally & intra-nationally is expected to rise in the coming years.

Future of zoos will be decided in the next few years. We are facing radical changes in the concept. Over the decades we have been proved that animal captivity, in most cases in terrible conditions, has affected badly their quality of life and their expected lifetime. The raison d’être and the welfare of the more than 3.5 million animals that they contain around the world are increasingly questioned.
These places, emerged between the eighteenth and nineteenth century, deeply linked to colonialism and the discovery of new worlds, must evolve adapting to the new needs. The question is how to do so.

Tamayouz Excellence Award is delighted to invite students, architects, and designers worldwide to Design a prototype for affordable housing for the post-Daesh city of Mosul, which can be easily replicated with the objective of increasing the capacity of housing in the city and providing a practical and inspiring solution for returning refugees and internally displaced. The conditions for returning refugees and internally displaced are extremely challenging. The question of how to support those who wish to return to their homeland will become extremely pressing.
