The Homebuilding & Renovating Awards 2024 open for entries
with new publishing partner and celebrity line-up

Entries are now invited for The Homebuilding & Renovating Awards 2024, which, for the first time, is partnering with The Times and The Sunday Times, and includes TV personalities Laura Jane Clarke and Sian Astley among its line-up of expert judges.

Exceptional homeowners who have gone above and beyond to complete a self-build, renovation, conversion or extension project to create their dream home tailored to their lifestyle have the opportunity to submit their entries in their chosen category for the chance to win £1,000 and to be featured in Homebuilding & Renovating magazine, a publication showcasing and celebrating Britain’s best homes for more than 30 years.

The closing date for entries is 17 June 2024.

Categories include: Best Self-Build sponsored by Self-Build Zone; Best Extension sponsored by ID Systems; Best Conversion sponsored by Sunflex; Best Renovation sponsored by The Sash Window Workshop; Best Green Home sponsored by Internorm; Best Interior sponsored by Charlton & Jenrick; Best Value Home sponsored by Kinedo; Best Custom Build Scheme sponsored by Plotfinder; Best Contemporary Home sponsored by VELFAC; Spirit of Self-Build sponsored by SIPS Eco, and Home of the Future sponsored by Loft Leg.

The judging panel includes:
Laura Jane Clarke: Founder of Lamp Architects, TV presenter (Your Home Made Perfect and Ugly House to Lovely House) and author of The Handbook of Home Design;
Darren Bray: Founder and director of Studio B.A.D Architects, a lecturer at Reading School of Architecture and a visiting critic at Brighton Interior Architecture School;
Sian Astley: Interior designer, project manager, serial renovator and builder. She has worked on the TV programmes DIY SOS and Your Home Made Perfect;
Claire Lloyd: Editor in Chief of Homebuilding & Renovating since 2016, who has completed a major renovation of a period cottage;
Michael Holmes: Director of Content at Homebuilding & Renovating and Chair of the National Custom and Self Build Association, an author and presenter of various TV property shows;
Beth Murton: Editor of Homebuilding & Renovating and a homes journalist for more than 20 years, who has also renovated two houses;
Carol Lewis: Property Editor of The Times and The Sunday Times. She won Columnist of the Year at the Property Press Awards in 2022;
Natasha Brinsmead: Associate Editor of Homebuilding & Renovating, who has renovated her own Edwardian home on a DIY basis.
