YACademy’s educational program is one of the most comprehensive and fascinating didactic experiences in the world. Each course comprises numerous educational formats offering an experience that can make the difference in young designers’ personal and professional careers.
THE COURSE
Architecture is a privileged tool of those brands characterized by an elevated positioning that, beyond the quality of their own products, needs to feed an imaginary of prestige, style, and refinement. From the showrooms to the stores, fashion needs architects as much as stylists, photographers and modelers.
For these reasons, the course Architecture for Fashion has been created, with the aim of training designers able to interpret the identity of a brand and transform it into an architectural space, moving the meanings of exclusivity, luxury, and elegance from the dress to the designated environment to exhibit it.
By deepening the needs of the fashion world, students will gain skills that can spend in the field of luxury, becoming familiar with a segment of the market characterized by an eternal charm and continuous rewarding opportunities of application.
The course is made of a teaching module of 82 hours, a 32-hours design and construction workshop, several special lectures, site visits and a period of internship/collaboration with one of the entities belonging to YACademy’s network.

WORKSHOP
MISSONI SHOWROOM

The workshop is organized in partnership with Missoni, it will be about the redesigning of the historical showroom of the maison, in via Solferino, Milan. The showroom is located at a stone’s throw from the fashion district and the building, set back from the street, used to be a factory of the Missoni family. With its iron and glass structures, the industrial complex is in elegant contrast with the vital and creative energy of the Missoni collections. The bright showroom is now employed as a gathering space and an event venue, but has been used for many different purposes by the maison. Starting 2023, the area will, for the first time, overlook the street – a unique and precious opportunity to reboost the esthetics and the meaning of the space, which will be all about the Missoni universe in its widest sense, including fashion, furniture, design, and lifestyle. Missoni aims at creating a cozy environment, a place that can represent the quality of the company and project into the future one of the most iconic brands of made in Italy fashion.

CONSTRUCTION WORKSHOP
Construction is a fundamental step in architecture. For this reason, YACademy offers its students the opportunity to participate in the process of producing their own ideas. Thus, the students will gain practical experience on construction sites and, above all, the authorship of projects built for excellent commissions, destined for a major media echo and capable of defining a turning point in their professional career.
SITE VISITS
SHOP SAFARI: PRADA, ARMANI, VALENTINO (Milan)
During the “Windows and Visual Merchandising” module, students will have the opportunity to have a tour of the shop windows of the main brands, in Via Montenapoleone, Milan – the place to be for fashion Made in Italy, in order to understand strategies, characteristics, and approach of the main brands.
GUCCI GARDEN (Florence)
Within the scope of the “Fashion exhibition” course, students will have the opportunity to visit the Gucci Garden in Florence, to experience first hand representation strategies and storytelling of one of the icons of Made in Italy.
FONDAZIONE PRADA (Milan)
During the Fondazione Prada lecture, students will visit the spaces with the architect who designed them, in order to understand their values and meanings, between culture and fashion identity.
MISSONI SHOWROOM (Milan)
During the workshop activities, students will have the opportunity to visit the historical Missoni showroom in via Solferino in Milan, so as to get acquainted with the site and therefore develop proposals in line with the values of the brand.
INTERNSHIP/COLLABORATION OPPORTUNITIES
To conclude the course, each student will carry out a period of collaboration with one of YACademy’s partner firms. Such collaboration will have a minimum duration of 2 months and guaranteed remuneration consistently with regulatory requirements. It will aim to perfect students’ skills, offering the rare opportunity to work and interact with some of the world’s leading firms. By enriching their experience through internships and collaborations, students will have a real chance to build a solid network of relationships, useful for accelerating and turning their career around.
