Innovative Minds 2018: Regenesis is an exploration into the relationship between the virtual world blending with physical architecture. As the frequency of disasters increase around the world, designers need to address these events with new architectural strategies. A regenesis with virtual and physical design solutions needs to be explored in this competition. How can virtual and physical systems work in tandem to solve issues related to disasters? Can these designs create a safer world in the aftermath?
Some disasters occur on a macro scale and others on a micro scale, but both have significant impacts on a community. Explore local, site-specific solutions informed by virtual processes and also how these solutions could potentially impact the global community.
Enhance our world by instilling a regenesis with virtual and physical architecture.
Awards:
First Place Winner – 1 Project
$1000 USD The first place project will receive a monetary prize and be published on the gURROO website for an extended period of time.
Second Place – 1 Project
$200 USD The second place project will receive a monetary prize and be published on the gURROO website for an extended period of time.
Third Place – 1 Project
$100 USD The third place project will receive a monetary prize and be published on the gURROO website for an extended period of time.
Honorable Mentions – Select number of projects based on judging review.

Early Registration:

Judging Panel:
A qualified judging panel of 3-5 persons evaluate the projects submitted. All judges of past Innovative Minds competitions work in the architecture profession. Judges will assess how well the project answers the Design Challenge with a successful architectural solution. The graphic quality of diagrams, drawings, and renderings, and how the overall clarity of the boards display the essence of the project, will also be a factor in the judging decision.
