From reTHINKING competitions we are happy to announce our new competition:“ Lanzarote Music Factory” It is a competition which pretends to create a collective space, where the domestic space is as important as the urban space.

A priority objective is the connection with the city and the impulse of the urban renewal in Arrecife. A project that will act as an engine of future activities that seek intervention in urban voids and old buildings adapting them to new uses.

OBJECTIVES

The project of the Music Factory of Lanzarote was born as a public initiative that seeks to solve the lack of musical spaces and interpretation of the island bearing in mind the analysis extracted from the area. A priority objective is the connection with the city and the impulse of the urban renewal in Arrecife. A project that will act as an engine of future activities that seek intervention in urban voids and old buildings adapting them to new uses.

Another of the premises that are pursued is the conservation of the hydraulic infrastructure of the island, not only understood as a building rehabilitation but as a renovation, that allows to revive to the buildings that have remained in the forgetfulness adapting them to the new needs. And finally an important factor to take into account, the recognition of Lanzarote as a Biosphere Reserve implies that any initiative is based on respect for the environment, protection of the environment and natural resources and sustainable development.

PRIZES

A prize will be awarded in the 1st phase of a total of 13,000 € distributed as follows:
First prize: 10.000 €
Second prize: 2.000 €
Third prize: 1.000 €

+ 10 HONOURABLE MENTIONS (no economic prize)

In addition the rethinking team is committed to the dissemination of the project through:

Publication in magazines
Publishing in blogs / architecture websites
Publication in reTHINKING media

JURY

The jury will be composed by professionals from the world of architecture, members of El Cabildo de Lanzarote and a musician. All disciplines related to the object of the competition

INSCRIPTION

Inscription periods will depend on the competition publication and will be divided as follows:
Early 40 € + IVA
Regular 70 € + IVA
Advanced 90 € + IVA
